Baseball Recap: Cochranton Cardinals vs. Cambridge Springs Devils

Cochranton had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it six. They lost 12-6 to the Cambridge Springs Devils. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Walker Carroll and Brayden Burnette did some serious damage despite the final result: Carroll went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Burnette went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Brady Rynd also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

As for Cambridge Springs, their record now sits at 4-5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

On Cambridge Springs' side, Quinn Simmerman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Simmerman also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cambridge Springs is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4-1 otherwise.
