Stanton has gone 4-0 against Lyons-Decatur Northeast recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Stanton Mustangs will challenge the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars at 2:30 p.m. Stanton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Stanton beat Madison 33-21.

Stanton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Dixon, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Skyler Siebrandt, who put up seven points and five blocks.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Lyons-Decatur Northeast's strategy against Mead on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lyons-Decatur Northeast blew Mead out of the water with a 54-21 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 25 point advantage.

Stanton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Everything went Stanton's way against Lyons-Decatur Northeast in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Stanton made off with a 56-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stanton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
