Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Red Devils vs. Vestavia Hills Rebels

The Lawrence County Red Devils had just enough and edged out the Vestavia Hills Rebels 2-1 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Lara Anne Norwood paced Lawrence County's offense, picking up five kills. Norwood were helped by Ava Templeton and Alivia Terry, who contributed six assists each. Finally, Harper Long kept Lawrence County's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Vestavia Hills' loss came despite strong showings from Lillie Hill and Elle Hill. Lillie had 12 digs and two assists, while Elle had nine assists and four digs. Lillie is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Pepper Bedford also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

The win got Lawrence County back to even at 4-4. As for Vestavia Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Lawrence County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Bayside Academy on the 23rd. As for Vestavia Hills, they will head out to take on Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
