Recap: Woodward Bulldogs vs. Aiken Falcons

It was a good run, but the Woodward Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 75-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aiken. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Burnett led the charge by scoring 20 points along with two steals. Burnett has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Arnold, who scored 16 points along with six assists.

Woodward's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Aiken, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Woodward will stay at home for another game and welcome Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Woodward knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Hughes likes a good challenge. As for Aiken, they will head out on the road to square off against Western Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Western Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,395 points over their last 20 games.
