Volleyball Recap: Monache Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mt. Whitney on Wednesday, Monache came back down to earth. The Marauders lost 3-0 to the Redwood Rangers on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in September.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Redwood scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.

London Haynes paced Monache's offense, picking up ten kills. Haynes got some help from Jaylee Alvarico and her 12 assists.

The defeat snapped Monache's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 14-14-1 record. As for Redwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-14 record this season.

Monache wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against El Diamante on the 20th. As for Redwood, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Porterville on the 20th.
