The Farmington Phoenix will head out on the road to challenge the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Farmington earned a 6-3 victory over Layton.

Farmington got a great performance from Lill Topham as she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Topham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sophia Strong and Brooklyn Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Strong went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Wright went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most RBI Strong has posted since back in March.
Farmington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Copper Hills hadn't done well against Herriman recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Mustangs. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Bryton Dawes made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Dawes was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Janie Coats was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kennedy Jennings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Copper Hills' record now sits at 11-12. As for Farmington, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Farmington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Copper Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
