Recap: Lanett Panthers vs. Columbus Blue Devils
It was a good run, but the Lanett Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Columbus on the road and fell 71-36. Lanett was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-18.
Columbus got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Oakley Koontz out in front who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 8 blocks. Koontz hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Savon Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Lanett's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Columbus, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanett will take on Opelika at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hardaway at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hardaway has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matches.
