Basketball Recap: High Plains Storm vs. East Butler Tigers

The High Plains Storm's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 47-34 victory over East Butler. That result was just more of the same for these two, as High Plains also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

High Plains' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gahvrielle Lesiak, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five steals. Lesiak is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Peyton Hofmann was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Lillie Kriz and Rylie Biltoft certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Kriz scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks, while Biltoft scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Biltoft has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madison Dewitt, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.

High Plains' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. As for East Butler, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cross County the next time they take the court. High Plains will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
