Softball Recap: Saint Mary's Panthers vs. Salesian College Preparatory Pride        
        
		
            
 If Saint Mary was riding high  off their  7-0 takedown of St. Patrick-St. Vincent last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saint Mary's Panthers took  an  8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salesian College Preparatory Pride on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Saint Mary's of the  19-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
  Taylor Zweben was cooking despite her team's loss,   getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with a  home run, three  RBI,  and a  stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aoife Shen, who  went 2-for-4 with a  triple and a  run.
 On Salesian College Preparatory's side,  DeAmor Coleman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Coleman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 15 consecutive pitching appearances. Coleman was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Ta'Leysha Thompson was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Mia Villanueva, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI.
 Saint Mary's defeat was  their fifth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Salesian College Preparatory, the  victory was  the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2-1.
 As of now, neither Saint Mary's nor Salesian College Preparatory have any future games scheduled.
