Southport is 1-9 against Franklin Central since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cardinals will take on the Flashes at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Southport is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on Saturday. Considering the Cardinals have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Southport got a great performance from Emma Jordan as she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Jordan has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayli Phoenix, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Kiefner, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Kiley Renick made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Renick was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Sarah Miller was incredible, going 5-for-6 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. August Coons was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.

The victory got Southport back to even at 12-12. As for Franklin Central, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.
