Softball Recap: Richland Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It's playoff time, and Richland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kamiakin Braves on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Emmalee Mohr made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Payton Chacon and Brooklynn Boyce did most of the damage at the plate: Chacon went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, while Boyce got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most stolen bases Chacon has posted since back in April.

Richland pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Kamiakin, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Richland will challenge Chiawana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kamiakin, they will venture away from home to challenge Mead on Tuesday.
