Softball Game Preview: La Salle Institute Cadets vs. Ichabod Crane Riders

The La Salle Institute Cadets are taking a road trip to take on the Ichabod Crane Riders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Salle Institute comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, La Salle Institute came up short against Cohoes and fell 6-1. That's two games in a row now that the Cadets have lost by exactly five runs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ichabod Crane, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Schalmont by a score of 7-4 on Thursday.

Charlotte Pelizza was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Ali Cox also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ichabod Crane kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ichabod Crane has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for La Salle Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
