Baseball Recap: Sheridan Hills Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Sheridan Hills Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over the Pahokee Blue Devils on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sharks considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Kobe Alvero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Alvero is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gianmarco Navarro, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Sheridan Hills Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pahokee, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
