The Swansboro Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Havelock Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Swansboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Swansboro turned things around against Croatan on Friday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 7-4.

Addison McMillan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Swansboro's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Cline, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Cline has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 27 runs the game before, Havelock was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jacksonville.

Havelock also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Carolina Jenkins gave up just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

The victory got Swansboro back to even at 7-7. As for Havelock, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Swansboro took their win against Havelock in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
