Basketball Recap: Ash Fork Gets the Win

Ash Fork won the last time they faced Music Mountain, and Isabella Acosta did her part to make sure it happened again. The Ash Fork Spartans really took it to the Music Mountain Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-28 win thanks in part to Acosta, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 steals. Acosta is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Crystal Nixon, who went 9 of 14 en route to 18 points and five steals. Ash Fork is 8-4 when Nixon posts five or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Ash Fork's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Music Mountain, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Ash Fork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-35 defeat against Mogollon on the 11th. Music Mountain has also already played their next contest, a 60-10 loss against Joseph City on the 11th.
