Gulf Pointe Latin falls despite strong effort from Micah Crumpler

The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators were the 69-53 winner over the Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Gulf Pointe Latin fell to Lighthouse Baptist Academy 50-44.

Despite the loss, Gulf Pointe Latin still got an impressive performance from Micah Crumpler, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Crumpler hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was John DeFore, who scored nine points.

Gulf Pointe Latin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Pointe Latin will challenge Santa Rosa Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lighthouse Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Central Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
