Sotomayor lost to Sierra Vista back in December of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Sotomayor Wolves came out on top against the Sierra Vista Dons by a score of 64-56. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

It was another big night for Jorge Penaloza, who posted 23 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Hernandez, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Sierra Vista lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Guevara, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Guevara is now averaging an impressive 8.6 boards per game. Aaron Buna was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five boards and three steals.

Sotomayor's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Sierra Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Sotomayor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-52 win against Math & Science College Preparatory on the 18th. As for Sierra Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-62 victory against North Hollywood on the 18th.
