Baseball Game Preview: Antioch Bears vs. LaVergne Wolverines

The Antioch Bears will venture away from home to square off against the LaVergne Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 19 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Antioch and ten for LaVergne.

Overton hit Antioch with a nine-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears came up short against the Bobcats, falling 14-1.

Meanwhile, LaVergne fell victim to Lebanon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0.

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for LaVergne, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Antioch might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from LaVergne when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
