McKinleyville and Arcata are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2023, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Last Wednesday, McKinleyville earned a 57-47 victory over St. Bernard's. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

McKinleyville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bode Douglass, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Cole Armstrong, who earned six points along with seven boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Arcata waltzed into their match on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Warriors, posting a 68-37 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

McKinleyville pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Arcata, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.

McKinleyville came up short against Arcata in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 56-47. Can McKinleyville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
