Football Recap: Potosi/Cassville's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

If Potosi/Cassville was riding high fresh off their 57-0 takedown of Pecatonica/Argyle last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Potosi/Cassville took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Black Hawk/Warren IL on Friday. The matchup marked Potosi/Cassville's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Black Hawk/Warren IL's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beau Podnar, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 83 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven passes. Black Hawk/Warren IL also got a significant boost from Jacob Woodruff, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Potosi/Cassville fell to 8-1. As for Black Hawk/Warren IL, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
