Linn hadn't done well against Centralia recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since September 13th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Linn who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-19.

Sophia Hiltgen paced Linn's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hiltgen got some help from Gretchen Bott and her 18 assists. Hiltgen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Linn has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Centralia, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Linn by a score of 2-0 later that day.
