Softball Recap: Mundelein Wins Going Away Against Waukegan

Mundelein won the last time they faced Waukegan and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mundelein got a massive performance out of Kieley Tomas, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Emily Courtney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Mundelein always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Mundelein is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Waukegan, their defeat was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20.

Looking ahead, Mundelein will welcome Jacobs at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Waukegan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
