Basketball Recap: Watonga Comes Up Short

Watonga lost against Seiling back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Watonga Eagles had to suffer through a 83-34 loss at the hands of the Seiling Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Wildcats are ranked seventh).

Watonga has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Seiling, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Watonga won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seiling, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Vici at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seiling is facing Vici at the right time seeing as Vici is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
