Baseball Recap: New Brighton Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

After only two runs in their last match, New Brighton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northgate on Tuesday. The Lions blew past the Flames 16-4. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Flames recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Carter Jackson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Jackson was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for New Brighton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Casey Bloom was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dom Pasquale, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

New Brighton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

New Brighton's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Northgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

New Brighton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flames: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
