Basketball Recap: Asheville Christian Academy Skates Past Gaston Day with Ease

Asheville Christian Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-15 victory over the Gaston Day Spartans. The game marked the Lions' most dominant win of the season so far.

Sara Larios continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 17 on her way to 21 points in addition to six steals and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Fuchs, who posted ten points and three steals.

Asheville Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Asheville Christian Academy moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Gaston Day, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Asheville Christian Academy Lions duke it out with the Hibriten Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Gaston Day, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on SouthLake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
