Basketball Recap: Mineola Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Mineola lost against Malakoff back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Mineola Yellowjackets and the Malakoff Tigers didn't end well, with the Mineola Yellowjackets falling 51-34. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 456th, while the Tigers are ranked 115th).

Mineola's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-14. As for Malakoff, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3.

Mineola will take on Winona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Winona has insisted on making their lastsix contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-6 during that stretch of close contests. As for Malakoff, they will square off against Grand Saline at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
