Softball Recap: Bingham Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bingham and Riverton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bingham had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Silverwolves by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Miners have suffered against the Silverwolves since April 18, 2024.

Bingham got a good showing from Kendra Hintze, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hintze has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bingham saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brecka Larson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Bingham's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-9-2. As for Riverton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record this season.

While Bingham had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
