Alyna Gilbert was a one-man wrecking crew for Columbus as she scored 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gilbert has scored at least a third of Columbus' points. Another player making a difference was Alexus Hammond, who scored nine points.
Columbus' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15. As for Crisp County, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.
Columbus will be playing at home against Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Columbus in Georgia (Monroe is ranked 95th, while Columbus is ranked 328th). As for Crisp County, they will head out on the road to square off against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crisp County is coming into the matchup with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Thomasville will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
