Soccer Recap: Decatur Comes Up Short

After flying high against Columbia last Tuesday, Decatur came back down to earth. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Athens Golden Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Athens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 8-7-3. As for Athens, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Athens beat Decatur by a score of 1-1 on Friday.
