Soccer Game Preview: Staley vs. Blue Springs

The Staley Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Blue Springs Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Staley is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Staley's offense. They fell just short of Blue Springs South by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Staley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Blue Springs South are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Blue Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Lee's Summit West on Thursday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Blue Springs in their meetings with Lee's Summit West: they've now lost four in a row.

Staley's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Blue Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Staley was able to grind out a solid win over Blue Springs when the teams last played back in April, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
