Baseball Recap: East Peoria Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

East Peoria proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Morton Potters get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Not much got past R.J. Duncheon, who gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Morton off the board. Duncheon has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Peoria saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roman Moody, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

East Peoria is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Morton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-7 record.

East Peoria will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Potters: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
