Basketball Recap: Ord's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Ord unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boone Central Cardinals. The Chanticleers were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ord lost, don't look at Claire Cargill. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Cargill continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Williams, who had 18 points.

Ord's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Boone Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Ord wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-42 win against Arcadia/Loup City on the 25th. Boone Central has also already played their next match (against Norfolk Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
