Football Game Preview: Sparkman Senators vs. James Clemens Jets + How To Watch

Sparkman is 2-7 against James Clemens since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Senators will head out on the road to challenge the Jets at 7:00 p.m. Sparkman will be strutting in after a win while James Clemens will be coming in after a defeat.

Sparkman will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Bob Jones, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Senators had just enough and edged out the Patriots 29-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Senators have posted since October 11, 2024.

Sparkman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Naylon out in front who threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. The Senators' leading receiver Kameron Reynolds was Naylon's top target yet again, picking up 116 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when James Clemens and Florence meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Jets took a 21-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Sparkman will have to contain Mj Gideon as he made an impact in James Clemens' last game. He rushed for 94 yards and one TD, and also picked up 64 receiving yards. Christian Richey helped out on the ground, rushing for 104 yards.

Sparkman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points over those games. As for James Clemens, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Braylon Lawson and Gideon. Lawson just won't slow down this season and has averaged 160.4 rushing yards per game. Gideon has been a dominant force too and has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 84.7 rushing yards per game.

Sparkman barely slipped by James Clemens in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 15-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
