Baseball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Andrean hit Highland with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Fighting 59ers, falling 10-2. The Trojans have struggled against the Fighting 59ers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Highland got a good showing from Austin Gold, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Gold didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since April 4th.

On the hitting side, Kirk Dapshis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Caden Quigg also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Andrean, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.
