Volleyball Recap: Anderson Indians vs. Muncie Central Bearcats
Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Muncie Central Bearcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
While Anderson had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18.
Leading Muncie Central to victory were Haeley Rollins and Elonna Davis. Rollins had 11 digs and two assists, while Davis had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Davis has posted over her last nine matchups. Learah Rollins also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Muncie Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.
While Anderson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
