Softball Recap: Port Huron Comes Up Short

If Port Huron was feeling good fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Center Line on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Hawks came up short against the Mott Marauders on Thursday, falling 10-2. The Red Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marauders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Port Huron got a good showing from Honezty Broadus, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Broadus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bryn Mullins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Port Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mott, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Huron will take on Cousino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mott, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lamphere at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in the Marauders' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Rams have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
