Softball Recap: Heritage Coyotes vs. Memorial Warriors
Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell victim to a rough 8-2 loss at the hands of the Memorial Warriors. Heritage was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.
For Memorial's part, Megan Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits (she also only allowed one walk). Wilson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ayden King was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Reese Carillo, who scored two runs and stole a base.
