Soccer Game Preview: Germantown vs. Tupelo

The Germantown Mavericks will face off against the Tupelo Golden Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Germantown's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Starkville 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Tupelo faced Brandon in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Saturday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Golden Wave's first draw of the season.

With that draw, Tupelo's record moves to 14-3-1. As for Germantown, their win bumped their record up to 9-4-2.

Germantown took their victory against Tupelo in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Germantown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tupelo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
