Myers Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Palisades on Friday as Myers Park made off with an 11-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Pumas: they've now won seven in a row.

Thomas Jokinen made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on William Jordak, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Hank Thrasher was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
Myers Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of South Mecklenburg by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.
Charlotte Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Conklin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Charlotte Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Myers Park, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Myers Park's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's match. Myers Park has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Charlotte Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Myers Park continue to outrun the ball?
Myers Park came up short against Charlotte Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-3. Can Myers Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
