Soccer Game Preview: Morton vs. Washington

The Morton Potters will face off against the Washington Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Morton's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Morton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bloomington a 1-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Morton's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Bloomington are ranked 221st).

Morton's one-goal win came courtesy of Uan Chatwell, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Washington waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Dragons 9-0. Washington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by three goals or more this season.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 24-1-1. As for Morton, their win bumped their record up to 15-4-4.
