Basketball Recap: Independent Comes Up Short

Independent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Life Prep Fire and fell 95-20. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-8.

It was another big night for Quinton Rolle Jr, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds for Life Prep. The dominant performance also gave Rolle Jr a new career-high in assists (four). Michael Munnings was another key player, going 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five steals.

Independent's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Life Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Independent Panthers face off against the Hayden Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Life Prep, they will take on Weatherford in a tournament on Friday.
