Baseball Recap: Point Loma Takes a Loss

Point Loma suffered their closest defeat since March 7th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the St. Augustine Saints by a score of 3-1. The Pointers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Saints earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Phoenix Brant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Druw Frost made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Point Loma dropped their record down to 12-7-1 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Augustine, their win bumped their record up to 14-8-1.

While Point Loma had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
