Basketball Recap: Malden Takes a Loss

Malden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 72-51 to the Kennett Indians. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Malden's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Kennett, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Malden and Kennett could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Malden will square off against Scott City at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th down 418 places (508 vs. 90). Similarly, Kennett (ranked 316th) will meet Woodland (ranked 34th) at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
