Softball Recap: Cranston West Triumphs

While Cranston West put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Coventry. The Falcons came out on top against the Oakers by a score of 5-0. The Falcons were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Oakers, so the Falcons were just returning the favor.

Izzy Marcano made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caroline Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Ellie Bogosian also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
