            Volleyball Recap: Jackson County Blue Devils vs. York Institute Dragons        
        
		
        
        
            
After flying high against Clarkrange  on Monday, Jackson County came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell just short of the York Institute Dragons by a score of  3-2 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won  3-2.
 Jackson County actually scored more points across those five sets (110-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 14-25,  21-19.
 Eva Wilson paced Jackson County's offense, picking up 19 kills. Wilson got some help from  Bella Chaffin and her 43 assists. Chaffin was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with four aces.
Jackson County has  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record  this season. As for York Institute, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jackson County will  take on  rival Clay County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, York Institute is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Red Boiling Springs  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
