Volleyball Recap: Victoria Jimenez Garcia Key Part of Team Effort in Raiders Win

Burney picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top against the Westwood Lumberjacks by a score of 2-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burney to victory, but perhaps none more so than Victoria Jimenez Garcia, who had seven digs and four aces. Jimenez Garcia has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Hawkins, who had five digs and two blocks.

Burney's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Westwood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burney will welcome Surprise Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood, they will be playing at home against Paradise Adventist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
