Softball Game Preview: Ventura Cougars vs. St. Bonaventure Seraphs

The Ventura Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ventura will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Fillmore, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Ventura came out on top against Fillmore by a score of 5-2 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Makayla Halley, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayra Landeros, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure got the win against Pacifica on Friday by a conclusive 11-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seraphs.

Janessa Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kaydin Conner was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Delilah Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

St. Bonaventure now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ventura, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
