There's no place like home for Bastrop, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Anderson Trojans 17-2 on Friday. Considering the Bears have won 13 matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Bailey Merritt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Lanie Coy was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Bastrop was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive games.
