Football Game Preview: Batavia Blue Devils vs. Eastridge Lancers

The Batavia Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Eastridge Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Batavia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Eastridge likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Batavia against Cleveland Hill as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. Fans of the Blue Devils have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Eastridge brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They managed a 32-27 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Batavia better keep an eye on Anthony McKinney. He was instrumental in Eastridge's win, throwing for 281 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 30 yards. Payton Kispert was in the mix as well, providing the Lancers with one score.

Eastridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rashaun Jiles and Erik Bell. Eastridge received some extra help from Kispert, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Batavia's record is now 3-0. As for Eastridge, their record now sits at 3-1.

Batavia ended up a good deal behind Eastridge in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, losing 28-14. Thankfully for the Blue Devils, Dwayne Collins (who picked up 87 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
