Recap: Slidell Tigers vs. Salmen Spartans

The Slidell Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down Salmen 62-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Slidell also won the last time the pair played back in November.

Mike Parlow was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Slidell's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Birdlow, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Slidell pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Salmen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slidell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tara at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Tara will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Slidell is ranked 99th). As for Salmen, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakeshore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
